From January 1st, 2021, a subscription is required for microdata.no

 by  Svein Johansen

Following a start-up period with free access to microdata.no, an institutional subscription is required from January 1st, 2021. The subscription agreement will be signed by the institutions responsible for the institutional user agreement. From this date, users will no longer have access to the service unless a subscription is signed.

If your institution decides to cancel the subscription, you will need to copy/archive all your scripts and analytical results before the free access period expires.

However, microdata.no will save your scripts until July 1st, 2021. During this period, a copy of them will be sent to you on request, by using the email address support@microdata.no.

All institutions with an institutional user agreement were informed about this in week 49, 2020.

The information was sent to the institutions’ management and to the administrators that register the institution’s users into the service.

The subscription includes the following:

  • One year access-period
  • Unlimited number of users (employees, higher degree students)
  • Unlimited number of projects
  • Free use
  • Free support
  • Introductory course (half day, physical or digital depending on the pandemic situation)

How to subscribe

Institutions with a running access agreement do not need to do anything to continue the agreement. If not terminated, the access will go on, and the institution receives an adjusted agreement/contract confirming the subscription.

Invoices are sent out in January.

Institutions wishing to terminate the access agreement, do so in writing to microdata@ssb.no within 17 December 2020.

If SSB is not notified by the deadline, the agreement will continue on the terms and prices available here.
