How big is the economic inequality in Norway? Has this changed in recent years? Are there geographical differences? Such things can now be analyzed by calculating Gini coefficient values ​​in microdata.no.

The aggregation functionality in microdata.no has been improved and made more flexible.

Until now, it has only been possible to use robust and cluster estimation on ordinary linear regressions in microdata.no. It will now be possible to do this for all types of regressions found in the analysis system, including logit, probit, multinomial logit, and linear panel regressions.

The winsorization confidentiality measure in microdata.no has been adjusted; the underlying data in the user’s workspace is no longer affected by this measure. Thus, regression analyzes can now be executed without being influenced by winsorization.

It is now possible to perform tests and diagnostics of linear regression models in microdata.no through the use of options. Examples are tests for heteroskedasticity, multicollinearity and omitted variables.

It is now possible to perform model testing to check whether fixed or random effects estimation should be used in connection with panel regressions. This is done by using the command hausman.

It will now be possible to use instrument variables in connection with regression analyzes. For such purposes, the new command ivregress is used.

All regression commands found in microdata.no will now have associated commands that generate residual and prediction values. Such values can be used to analyze the data spread and for testing regression models. Prediction values can also be used as input for further analyzes.

Microdata.no has now been expanded with a number of new functions that can be used to make various calculations of records / rows. This automates and makes it easier to generate variables based on different calculations:

The development team are now offering microdata.no courses. As the course will be targeting users with little or no experience in the use of this analysis tool, no prior knowledge is needed.
